The project, inspired by Gaud\u00ed, was designed by student Zeyin Song as part of the FormArt3D competition, thanks to the collaboration between Benito Urban, Lagula Arquitectes and Aridditive. It consolidates the municipality as a benchmark for innovation in public space. <\/strong><\/strong><\/p>\n\n

Barcelona, \u200b\u200bon September 23, 2025.<\/strong> The pioneering technology of aridditive is already present in the square of the Town Hall of La Pobla de Lillet, which has just unveiled a new singular element, a 3D printed concrete bench inspired by the organic forms of Antoni Gaud\u00ed.<\/p>\n\n

Designed by Zeyin Song, a student at the Institute of Advanced Architecture of Catalonia (IAAC), the bench is the result of the FormArt3D<\/strong> competition, promoted by Benito Urban, Lagula Arquitectes and Aridditive.<\/p>\n\n

Cement tradition and technological innovation<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

The location is no coincidence either. La Pobla de Lillet was the site of the first portland cement factory in Spain, promoted by Eusebi G\u00fcell in 1905, and a symbol of Catalan industrial development. More than a century later, this bank unites past and future: it claims the municipality’s cement roots and, at the same time, is committed to technological innovation with 3D printing, a technique capable of recreating Gaud\u00ed’s organic forms and projecting them towards new uses in construction. <\/p>\n\n

Aridditive<\/strong> ‘s mission is to revolutionize construction through 3D printing in concrete. For the company, this milestone is much more than a prototype: \u201cThis bench is proof that 3D printing in concrete has gone from being an idea to becoming a tangible reality that can transform how we conceive of public spaces,\u201d<\/em> explains Arnau Cumelles<\/strong> , co-founder and COO. <\/p>\n\n

The project also has a strong identity and tourist value for the municipality. The mayor, Enric Pla i Aramberri<\/strong> , highlights that La Pobla becomes the first municipality in Central Catalonia with a piece of this nature, and underlines that \u201cit is a new icon that will help us project ourselves and attract visitors.\u201d<\/em> <\/p>\n\n

From the business perspective, Arnau Miralpeix<\/strong> , marketing director of Benito Urban, highlights the potential of the technology: \u201c3D printing eliminates classic problems of concrete manufacturing, such as the cost and time of molds. This allows us to innovate in design and offer new solutions for public spaces.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n\n

A technology with a journey beyond urban furniture<\/strong><\/p>\n\n

The technology developed by Aridditive allows the manufacture of concrete pieces without molds, with significant savings in time, costs and material. In addition, each piece incorporates digital traceability of the process, a key tool for certification and the industrialization of construction. <\/p>\n\n

The bench in La Pobla de Lillet is just a first step: from benches and planters to facades and sustainable homes<\/strong> , the applications are almost unlimited and open the door to a new paradigm in construction.<\/p>\n\n

Looking to the future<\/strong> After the success of the installation, Benito Urban and Aridditive are studying the future possibilities of the model and its fit into new urban projects.<\/p>\n\n

At the same time, Aridditive makes its technology available to city councils, architects and developers who want to explore customized solutions with 3D printing in concrete.<\/p>\n\n
